The contract between United Auto Workers union and Ford Motor Company has been collectively supported by bargaining chairs and leaders of various local automotive unions. They have been endorsing that the indefinite four-year agreement between the labor union and the automotive company be approved as soon as possible.
According to Local 2000 Bargaining Chairman Bruce Yates, the support of the different union leaders was shown through voice voting that resulted to a unified approval.
The contract between Ford and the large labor union features terms that are very comparable to the transactions established by the laborers of Chrysler LLC and General Motors Corp.
The trust that will be managed by United Auto Workers union will receive contribution worth 13.2 billon dollars from Ford. This amount will be used for providing health care benefits to the retirees.
Throughout the length of the contract, a laborer of Ford who is a member of the United Auto Workers union will obtain economic help that amounts to 12,904 dollars. Moreover, the laborer covered by the agreement will have a bonus worth 3,000 dollars. In addition, he will receive a 3% single, complete payment in the second year of the contract, 4% in the third, and another 3 % in the fourth year.
